About RV Repair Hobe Sound
11 years of fixing RVs across Martin County. Here's how it started.
Meet Jake Merritt
I grew up around boats and RVs in South Florida. My dad had a 28-foot travel trailer that we'd take to Flamingo in the Everglades every winter. By the time I was 16, I was the one fixing the water pump when it seized and rewiring the shore power cord after it melted at a campground pedestal. I didn't plan on making a career out of it, but here we are.
After high school, I worked at a marine repair shop in Jupiter for three years. I got my hands on everything: wiring, plumbing, fiberglass, you name it. Then I spent four years at an RV dealership service center in Stuart, working on rigs that came in for warranty work and general repairs. I learned a lot there, but I also learned something frustrating: customers hated the dealership experience. They'd drop off their rig and not see it for three weeks. Sometimes longer.
In 2015, I bought a service truck, loaded it with tools, and started RV Repair Hobe Sound. The idea was simple: drive to the customer, fix the problem on the spot, charge a fair price, and move on to the next one. No appointments three weeks out. No rig sitting in a lot while someone gets around to it. Just show up and fix it.
Where We Are Today
Eleven years later, we've completed over 2,500 repairs across Martin and Palm Beach counties. We're rated 4.8 stars across 147 reviews. I hold current RVIA certification and follow NEC Article 551 and NFPA 1192 standards on every electrical and gas-related repair.
We cover 10 cities from our base in Hobe Sound: Jupiter, Tequesta, Jupiter Farms, Stuart, Jensen Beach, Port Salerno, Palm City, Jupiter Island, and Indiantown. That's roughly a 25-mile radius, and we know every campground, storage yard, and back road in between.
What We Work On (and What We Don't)
We handle everything inside the living space of your RV. That means electrical systems (12V and 120V), plumbing, air conditioning, solar power, roof and seal repair, slideout and leveling systems, appliances, and generator maintenance. If it's part of your RV's house systems, we fix it.
What we don't do: engine work, transmission, chassis, drivetrain, or towing. We also don't rebuild generators. We handle generator maintenance (oil, filters, plugs, fuel system, load testing), but for internal generator repairs, we'll refer you to a specialist who does that exclusively.
